What is the whole and holy way?
Jesus taught and embodied the way of wholeness that involves growing in loving relationship with God, creation and each other until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of Christ that we become fully like him. Such wholeness is health and is about a depth of
relationship that is described in scripture as peace, shalom, harmony. Growing towards such unity brings renewal to our whole person.
Who are we?
InterChurch Health Ministry Community brings together church members, clergy, lay leaders, parish nurses, caregivers and health educators who embrace the health and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. We promote wholistic health care and well-being practices that focus on the healing presence and action of God in our lives. Jesus embodied this awareness and instructed his followers to keep awake and be renewed (daily) in body and mind, heart and soul, and relations through steadfast love for God, and neighbour. Following this command, health ministry members share insights and practices for living in just and right relationships, caring for others as whole persons (body, mind and spirit), and promoting well-being through practice groups, workshops and live events. We support congregations and parishes that make health ministry a mission for their members and the communities they serve.
What is our work of service?
We offer our talents to compile practice-centered materials, that address spiritual, body/mind and relational care topics, through practice groups, workshops and live events. We offer these to promote health and well-being, and compassionate care through parishes and congregations so that those they serve may become fully alive and well.
